History of Swamiji
  • Spiritual Journey and Extraordinary Deeds

P.P. Shreemad Digvijaya Ramchandra Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji were given deeksha by their guru at Partagali Math, marking the first major initiation ceremony at this location. Following their guru's mahanirvana at Rivona in Srisaka 1587, they initially stayed at the Rivona Math, where they discovered a Hanuman pratima made of Tulasi wood. Devoted to Hanuman, they performed intense tapas in a nearby cave. Upon the request of devotees, they later moved to Partagali, where they initiated their successor.

    The Digbandhana of Narayana Bhoota

During a grand Rathotsava at Partagali, the chariot suddenly became immobile despite the fervent efforts of the devotees. P.P. Swamiji intuitively recognized that Narayana Bhoota was causing the obstruction due to past differences between two Maths. Using their mantra-shakti, they captured the spirit in a coconut and made it immobile at the foot of the Maruti tower in front of the Math. This legacy continues today; a coconut naivedya is still offered at the tower, and oil-dipped cloths are lit from the top during festivals. After laying down these traditions, they traveled to Ankola for dharma prachara, where they eventually attained Haripada.
