History of Swamiji
  • Tapas and Divine Authority

P.P. Shreemad Ramanath Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, born in the Bhatbhute family of Poinguim, were given deeksha by their guru P.P. Shreemad Bhuvijaya Ramachandra Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji. They were a great ascetic (tapasvi) known for their spiritual powers and authority (shaapaanugraha shakta). Long before ascending the Gurupeetha, they managed Math affairs during their guru's frequent pilgrimages, as evidenced by numerous letters shared between them.

A famous incident at Gokarna highlights their divine power. When a group of agitators attempted to block a religious procession on a scorching afternoon, the extreme heat turned into a miraculous fire that began burning the homes of the troublemakers. The path was immediately cleared, allowing the devotees to return safely. Though their tenure was brief, they ensured the continuity of the lineage by giving deeksha to an 11-year-old shishya at Venkatapur. They attained Haripada shortly after at the Venkatapur Math.
