A Legacy of Resilience and Devotion

P.P. Shreemad Srikantha Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, born into the Bhat Bhute Acharya family of Poinguim, were given deeksha by P.P. Shreemad Kamalakanta Teerth. Their tenure was marked by a strong call for community action; They issued an Ajnapatra in Srisaka 1687, urging devotees to contribute toward the restoration of the dilapidated Gokarna Math. In 1770, they received a royal travel order from Peshwa Madhav Rao Ballal, allowing them to travel unhindered. They were the first senior Acharya to attain Haripada at the Partagali Math, where their Vrindavana is situated.

The Miracle of the Trembling Danda

In Srisaka 1692, P.P. Swamiji’s health deteriorated significantly due to an intense fever. Unwilling to let this physical ailment obstruct Their mandatory daily Devapuja and Sandhyavandana, They utilized Their yogic strength to transfer the fever into Their Danda (sacred staff). During the puja, witnesses saw the Danda trembling and shaking violently as it absorbed the heat, while P.P. Swamiji performed the rituals with a calm and steady focus. Once the service was complete, They would draw the fever back into Their body. Today, devotees suffering from intractable fevers offer prayers at Their Vrindavana in Partagali, seeking relief from physical ailments through Their divine intervention.
