Shree Maruti Mandir

📍 Rivona, GOA
🏛 Est. 1656 CE
🧘 Founded by P.P. Shreemad Ramchandra Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji
History
  • The Rivon Shaka Math, also known as Rhushivan, was established in 1656 A.D. by the sixth Guru of the lineage, P.P. Shreemad Ramchandra Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji. The foundation of this Math is intertwined with the establishment of the Partagali Kendra Math. According to divine instructions, P.P. Swamiji found four stone idols near the back of the Gokarn Math. While three of these idols (Shree Rama, Laxmana, and Seeta) were installed at Partagali, the fourth idol—that of Shree Maruti—did not become 'heavy' at the Partagali site, signifying a divine wish for a different location.

Following the Kamadhenu through a rugged route of valleys and dense forests, the divine cow eventually reached a serene and spiritually vibrant place known as Rhushivan. It was here that P.P. Swamiji installed the Shree Maruti idol and founded the Shaka Math. The site is historically significant as it also contains a cave where the seventh Guru, P.P. Shreemad Digvijayaramachandra Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, performed intense penance (Tapasya). The Matha houses the holy Vrindavana of the founder Guru, P.P. Shreemad Ramchandra Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji, who attained haripaada here on Vaishakh Bahula Triteeya.
