Life and Extraordinary Work

P.P. Shreemad Jeevottama Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji was the third Acharya of the Math, hailing from Basroor.

Their life was marked by extreme asceticism, renunciation, and divine success. Like Shreemad Madhvacharya,

They displayed profound knowledge and yogic powers. During a halt at Bijapur, They transformed meat sent by ruler Ali Adilshah into flowers by sprinkling holy water. Impressed, the Badshah sought blessings for progeny; through P.P. Swamiji's abhimantrana, the Queen conceived, leading the ruler to honor the Seer with ceremonial umbrellas and palanquins.

Divine Bond with Sonde Math

P.P. Shreemad Jeevottama Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji shared a profound spiritual relationship and a very good bond with P.P. Shreemad Vadiraja Teerth Swamiji of Sonde Math. This mutual respect between the two great Seers is immortalized in the history of the Guru Parampara. It is said that Their spiritual connection was so deep that P.P. Shreemad Vadiraja Teerth Swamiji intuitively perceived the moment of P.P. Swamiji's final departure and offered a heavenly Arati in Their honor.

Divine Discovery and Establishments

During a pilgrimage to the Gandaki river, P.P. Swamiji found three quinta-metallic pratimas in the River Sheela, which They named Digvijay Vitthal, Bhoo-Vijay Vitthal, and Veer-Vitthal. They established sub-Maths at Gokarn (installing Bhoo-Vijay Vitthal) and Basroor (installing Dig-Vijay Vitthal), while personally worshipping Veer Vitthal at the main Math. Due to Their immense contributions at Gokarn, the Bhatkal Math came to be known as the Gokarn Math, and 'Jeevottama' was added to its name.

Mahanirvana on a Divine Vimana

After a long tenure of over 70 years, P.P. Swamiji received a final divine directive. As promised by the Lord during Their earlier anshan vrata in the Himalayas, a divine vehicle (divya vimaana) was sent for Them. As P.P. Swamiji ascended, P.P. Shreemad Vadiraja Teerth of Sonde Math intuitively saw Their soul departing and offered arati heavenwards. P.P. Swamiji left Their mortal coils on Bhadrapada Shukla Panchami, Srisaka 1510, attaining Vaikunta. They also composed 'Teerthavali', a travelogue of Their extensive pilgrimages.
