History of Swamiji
  • Institutional Development and Administration

P.P. Shreemad Ananda Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji were known for their practical outlook, achieving significant financial stability for the Matha while maintaining an utmost detachment from material pleasures. They successfully balanced the Matha’s administration and finances with their own spiritual progress. One of their most significant achievements was the renovation of the Partagali Matha, which began on Vaishakh Vadya Saptami of Saka 1731. The punahpratishtha of Shri Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana was completed on Jyeshtha Shukla Ashtami of Saka 1732. They also constructed the Shri Vira Vitthala Matha at Balli and a tower of Maruti at the Partagali Matha in 1821 CE.

    Pilgrimages

They undertook numerous pilgrimages throughout their reign, visiting Rameshwaram, Anantashayana, Shrirangam, and Vishnukanchi. In 1817 CE (Saka 1739), P.P. Shreemad Ananda Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji resolved to undertake a rigorous pilgrimage to Badarinath, aiming to cover several North Indian teerthakshetras. Their journey was marked by intense spiritual discipline, as they spent three consecutive Chaturmasas away from the headquarters. They observed the first Chaturmasa at the Samsthan’s own building in Kashi in 1817 CE before proceeding to Badarinath. Upon their return from the Himalayas in 1818 CE, they observed their second Chaturmasa again in Kashi. Finally, while traveling back to Goa, they completed their third Chaturmasa of the journey in Marcel village in 1819 CE (Saka 1741). In Saka 1747, the Soundekar king Basavalinga Maharaj and Prince Sadashiv Maharaja visited the Partagali Matha for five days, staying as their guests.
